If your pistol is not certifiable we tell you why in writing. If it is certifiable it will be returned to you with a certification tag attached to the trigger guard.

Repair/Rebuild Certification Service + Re-Finish of steel/aluminum parts (excepting springs & polymer parts). Turn around time:  ~6-8 weeks

Choose among the following surface preparations and finishes. Cautionary note: if the frame or slide of your pistol is substantially pitted due to rust or chemical corrosion we recommend that it be 330 grit or high polished hot blued - as nickel and specialty metal plating will highlight the pitting.  Send the pistol to us and we will let you now if we can successfully remove the pitting without compromising the physical appearance/mechanical integrity of the pistol:

330 Grit Hot Blue: add $150

330 grit was and remains the “Standard” surface of all Baby Browning, PSP and PSA-25 pistols circa 1931-2012 and was and continues to be followed by a hot blue oxide dip.  Please note, we only hot blue pistols that have (when we receive them at our workshop) a blue/black oxide finish.  It is not economic to utilize x-ray fluorescence to determine the chemical composition of the metal parts of your pistol - a process that would allow us to make an exact determination as to if your pistol will accept and reflect a proper hot blue finish.  Chances are if it was once blue/black in color it can successfully be hot blued again.  However, there is a slight risk that your pistol has a silica content that is too high for proper hot blueing to be acheived - especially some investment cast versions of the Baby Browning, PSP and PSA - in which case the steel parts of your pistol will likely turn a purple redish color.  If this happens we will be obliged to ask you to consider utilizing one of the other finish options we offer.  For reference see our GR4000 pistol.

High Polish Hot Blue: add $175

For those of you who want a high polished feel to the touch.  See cautionary note under 330 Grit Hot Blue. For reference see our GR4000-1 pistol.

Brushed Electrolytic Nickel: add $150

We have been offering this popular surface and finish since 1995.  It provides a good barrier against corrosion. Electrolytic (versus electroless) nickel plated pistols have a more consistent plating thickness (measured in microns) which is less likely to bubble, chip or not cover certain hard to reach surfaces on pistol parts - like inside recoil spring holes for example.  Electrolytic nickel plated pistols tend to display a smoother "action" than those that are hot blued.  For reference see our GR4001 pistol.

High Polish Electrolytic Nickel: add $175

Fabrique Nationale offered this finish on Baby Browning pistols during the 1940's-1960's by special factory order only – and customers waited months for one. A high polished, elegant version of our popular brushed electrolytic nickel finish.  For reference see our GR4002 pistol.

Hot Blue Hybrid Finish: add $165

All flat surfaces of the frame and slide are hand sanded to 330 grit; all curved surfaces of the frame and slide are glass bead blasted.  The front and back of the frame and slide (where the two parts meet) are high polished.  All of the flat surfaces of the trigger, safety, transfer bar, extractor and magazine catch (if metal) are high polished.  For reference see our GR4003-1 pistol.

Electrolytic Nickel Hybrid Finish: add $165

Same as Hot Blued Hybrid but in electrolytic nickel. For reference see our GR4003-2 pistol.

Browning Lightweight Refinishing: add $245

Proud owner of a rare Baby Browning Lightweight? Want to bring it back to its original condition? We strip the finishes from the 6061 aluminum frame, 8620 steel parts and gold plated trigger and after proper surface preparation apply new finishes: clear coat anodization, hexavelent (blue hue) chrome over electrolytic nickel, 24 karat gold plate. MIssing the original grips? Consider utilizing our machined 6061 aluminum or silver/nickel grips with mother of pearl inlays. Want to speed up the trigger action a bit? Install a Grade 5 titanium firing pin.  Just visit our webstore for more details under "Grips" and "Firing Pins".  For reference see our GR4005 Series of pistols.

Vacum Deposition Coated Carbon-Titanium: add $225

All parts of the pistol are hand sanded to 440 grit.  The frame and slide are micro-glass bead blasted. All parts (including the barrel) are put under a vacuum in a vacuum chamber and carbon-titanium is electronically deposited on the parts.  The finish is black and highly scratch and corrosion resistant and displays a higher degree of lubricity than our electrolytic nickel plated pistols.  This finish is recommended for pistols which display surface blotchiness, pitting due to rust or corrosion due to exposure to chemicals and is also ideal for those enthusiasts who seek a stealthy "all black" look. For reference see our GR4004-3 pistol.

Rose, Yellow Gold & Sterling Silver Plating: add $275

All parts are high polished and then plated with 14 karat rose or 24 karat yellow gold or sterling silver plate. A vacuum deposition applied clear coat is applied on all rose gold plated parts to minimize oxidation of this particular finish (which contains copper).  For reference see our GR4007 Series of pistols.

24 Karat Gold Initials (with optional ivy filigree): add $230/$455

This service is only available for Baby Browning, PSP and PSA-25 pistols machined from 8620 steel.  We cannot peform this service on stainless steel pistols - such as the PSA-25 4004 Series or GR4005 Series of aluminum framed pistols. Our certified world class Master Engravers will hand chisel engrave and inlay 24 karat gold initials centered on the outside of the trigger shroud of the frame.  You may call out up to three initials (or more for an additional fee) in either simple or boroque font style.  Add simple ivy filigree on both sides of the initials for an extra charge of $225.

Hand Chisel Engraving/Gold Inlay: add $1000+

This unique service is available only to those of you who own a pre-1968 Baby Browning pistol.  We can transform your treasured pistol into a collectible work of art - which will make a brilliant addition to your collection or an ideal gift for a loved one.  Choose a look among any of our GR4010-11-12 Series pistols or allow us to engage one of our world class Master Engravers to prepare a unique pencil sketch of a design based on your own vision.  Call us for a quote.
