Our own experience with this product began some time ago when we were introduced to it at a trade show. We needed something to clean our pistols with - as after a long day at the trade show all of the pistols we had displayed had gotten pretty well handled by our affectionate fans. We had even forgotten the cleaning cloth! A helpful trade show neighbor lent us his 11 ounce aerosol can of Safari Charlie and a new cleaning cloth. Our experience from that time forward has confirmed what the manufacturer claims: there actually is less friction between steel parts (when compared with our experience with other brands we have utilized - and we've used them all). And most importantly for us - the surface of our pistols is residue free! As in "clean as a baby's bottom"! We're sold. Our opinion is that "Safari Charlie" is the best gun lube, cleaner and steel protectant available on the market today. It works - and smells good, too. A chemical releasing agent in the product lifts rust, dirt, grime, grease and drives out moisture. The lube does not attract dust, dirt, powder residue on guns and does not sling off of moving parts. The product is not petroleum based, does not contain Teflon, silicone, wax or graphite. It is grease free and retards the build-up of gun powder residue on pistol parts. The product neutralizes acids (as in those on the surface of your hands) and protects expensive gun metal finishes. To summarize: Safari Charlie lubes, leaves gun metal clean without residue and smelling good! What more could you ask for out of an 11 ounce can?! 11 net ounce aerosol can with plastic cap and concentrating pipette. For a "to go" alternative, consider purchasing the 2 ounce, non-aerosol, plastic bottle version of Safari Charlie with swivel nipple. And for those of you who need more of the stuff, it is also available by the gallon (we now buy by the gallon ourselves). Just let us know and we'll get a gallon of it for you!
